Healthy Breakfast Smoothie
September 19, 2008
Ingredients (use vegan versions):
* 1 cup soymilk (I use vanilla soymilk)
* 1/3 cup frozen berries (any!)
* 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed
* 2 tablespoon extra firm tofu
* 1/2 banana
* 1 carrot, chopped
* 2 tablespoons soy protein powder
Directions:
I find this smoothie to be filling and
delicious. It’s especially quick if
you chop the carrot the night before.
Just put everything into a blender and
wait until smooth. The banana
provides the perfect amount of
sweetness, and the soy and flaxseed
add protein.

* 1 cup apple juice
* 2 bananas, halved
* 1/2 to 3/4 cup strawberries

Directions:
Put all ingredients in blender. Blend for 30-40 seconds, or until desired
consistency.

Fruit Smoothie
September 19, 2008
Ingredients (use vegan versions):
* 1 frozen banana
* frozen strawberries
* frozen peaches
* vegan soymilk or rice milk
Directions:
Cut the frozen banana into chunks and place in the
blender. Add some milk. Blend and pour! Cold, easy,
tasty & healthy.
I usually don’t mix the fruits together. A strawberry
smoothie in the winter is a nice treat. This is a great
way to use those old brown bananas no one wants to eat.
Peel & stick in the freezer. Guaranteed cold & refreshing,
and no messing around with ice cubes!

Almond Milk
September 19, 2008
Ingredients (use vegan versions):
* 1 cup blanched, slivered or chopped almonds
* 4 cups water
* 1 teaspoon vanilla
* vegan maple syrup to taste
Directions:
Put almonnds and half of the water in the blender. Blend for a good three to five
minutes. With the blender still on, add the rest of the water a little at a time, then
the vanilla and syrup. Blend another 2 minutes. Line a collander with a cheese cloth
(you can get it at a cooking store, food co-op, or even a fabric store), and pour the milk
through it. Squeeze the excess out of the almond gook in the cloth.
The gook left in the cloth makes a great facial scrub, or you can knead vegan sugar, color , and
flavor into it and treat it like candy.

2 Minute Vegan Chocolate Freak
